Book Recommendation

From time to time I see people asking for a book recommendation
on perennials. I collect gardening books and have many on the
subject. However, the one I turn to again and again is called
PERENNIALS FOR AMERICAN GARDENS by Ruth Rogers Clausen and
Nicolas H. Ekstrom. Published by Random House in 1989.
Currently sells for $50 but worth every penny. Actually I
happened upon this book about 6 years ago at a Discount Book
store--it was selling for $6 because it had a torn paper cover.
When I consider that I've invested well over $150-$200 in
perennial books I don't even open if this one has the information
I want, it's well worth the price. One of the important things
about this book is that it isn't a book written in Europe and
adapted for Americans like so many are--the information given is
provided with good knowledge our climates and geography.
