Pansies

Happy 4th everyone,
I just had to comment on the pansy thread. Last March, (the first
week) we were driving home from Florida and stopped at a Hampton Inn
in Knoxville. It had snowed pretty heavily a couple of days before
and the snow was just starting to melt and, coming through this layer
of melting snow, was a veritable blanket of pansies. They had planted
literally hundreds of them in the most gorgeous shade of velvety
purple and some of a gentle yellow. I couldn't believe my eyes. I
had never heard of perennial pansy before..I thought they must have
planted them before the snowfall but the manager told me they had been
there for a couple of years. I figured that they only grew in the
south and was green with envy. Now, from what all of you are saying,
they are hardy further north. How about zone 5? Where can I buy them
and what should I ask for?
