RE: Veronica

My Veronica is blooming early this year and has many more blossoms than
usual.  I split it up last fall and moved it to a different spot in my
garden.   It has gotten even larger than the original piece. It still gets
the same amount of sun, but the bed that I put it in was dug last year and
the soil may be different.  The problem that I am having is that the leaves
underneath are dying off and the blooms look somewhat misshapen, even though
there are many more of them. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing
this?
