The Stargazer Oriental Lily is also wonderfully scented.  They also multiply
yearly and make a beautiful clump.
    About your lilies, maybe the voles ate them. I lost a lot of bulbs to
voles year before last. They are like meadow mice and run in the tunnels
that the moles make. Very difficult to get rid of.
