Thanks for the information on disappearing lilies, BOB. It would
definitely NOT be the lack of acid soil, since mine is quite acid,
being right under an oak tree.....and in fact, I just bought some lime
for around the corner from where the lilies were, so that I can alter
the color of my very blue hydrangea to get a bit of pink and purple
for next year....maybe it was the fertilizing, not enough compost.
The bed is slightly shaded, in fact, probably a bit more than
slightly! I would say that this bed gets about three hours of sun at
most, although it is not a deep shade.
Will try again one of these days,
