How about siberian iris-you can get purples, whites and yellows there.
Also how about some of the earlier daylilies for orange and yellow. Then
there are oriental poppies. Also early summer blooming for me is the
centaurea montana-a blue-purple flower. Then there are some nice
geranims which bloom early summer
