Would you like to reduce your incoming mail from the perennial mailing
list?
If this is the case, you should subscribe to the digest format of the
perennial mailing list.
The digest version, complies all the incoming mail up to 40k and submits
one post with all the email messages for that period of time.
If this sounds like a good idea, then you need to unsubscribe from the
regular list and then subscribe to digest format.
to unsubscribe from the regular mailing list, you send your command to
majordomo@mallorn.com
in the body of the text, type the following
unsubscribe perennials
subscribe perennials-digest
This way you only have to do the task once.
Now that you are on the digest version, you can now respond to questions
by reviewing the archives. You can review the digest mail and respond
to a post of interest. But I have found, it is easier to review the
archives homepage and respond only to the post of interest.
The archives are on
http://www.mallorn.com/lists/perennials
Take a look and give it a try. Open a post and press the
perennials@mallorn.com link on the top of the page and write your
response. Don't forget to add the subject and make sure you place an
"re:" in front of the subject.
I follow this process all the time for all my mailing list which I own.
If you view this url, you will be able to see all the garden mailing
list which are archived.
http://www.mallorn.com/lists
And if you think that is great, take a look at the mailing list search
engine. Yes, they have a search engine for all the past email post. If
you wanted to see if the subject was discussed before, all you have to
do is type in the key words and press search.

or for each mailing list

I hope this helps your work load and your incoming mail.
Thank you
