My sense of awe and admiration for all you people out there is growing
with each post I receive. At first we chatted about lovely flowers in
our gardens. Then the next thing I know I am hearing about nature in
the form of wildlife invading your gardens. Deer! snakes! banana
slugs! bears! raccoons! I don't know where all of you live but I would
have moved out at the first sight of one of the aforementioned. In
case you can't figure it out, I am not a lover of all things great and
small. I don't mind the "great" so much, but the "small" is
definitely not for me. If I encountered an elephant in my yard, I'd
be really friendly and give his trunk a nice rub, but I wouldn't pick
a slug off my hostas or a japanese beetle off my roses if my life
depended on it. We had a snake in the yard once, years ago, and I
wouldn't go out of the house for 4 days. I enjoy flirting with my
bumble bees, butterflies and hummingbirds, but, the day I have to
tangle with anything less friendly, I will quit gardening.
Here's to you !! Jeanne
