In my area (zone 6b in southwest Virginia) it self-seeds quite
well.  I first noticed it about three years ago in the trial
garden a Virginia Tech when there was one plant.  That one plant
has now spread to cover about 100 square feet and would be larger
except that they keep it weeded out of the adjacent beds.
