Any advice will be appreciated!
1. What to do about the browning leaves left
by
-Puschkinia scilloides, "Striped squill"
-Scilla sibirica, " Siberian squill"
-Crocus vernus
-Chionodoxa luciliae "Glory of the Snow"
-Puschkinia scilloides "Striped squill"
These early spring plants are planted
in same patch in my garden. The end of their
flowering period is the beginning for
the rest of the garden. This patch remains
a mass of unsightly yellow and brown leaves for the
rest of the summer! I know I shouldn't cut back the
leaves, but what can I do to hide them?
2. Eschscholtzia, "California poppy"
Is it possible that this low-growing,
brilliant orange annual is a Self Seeder??
I've been seeding the same patch for the past three years,
and have become accustomed to seeing the pretty flowers.
I dearly wish they would return of their own accord. - if
they could.
3. Mertensia maritima, Sea Lungwort/Oysterleaf. Flowers
are TINY blue and pink. Creeping stems are thick with
leaves that are are whitish green - very
striking against dark of the ground.
Anyone growing this plant? I found it on the
beach growing in moist sand. I planted it in my garden, in a
shady area, in clay soil. It's growing well. Go figure.
