Re: Shasta Daisies (again!)

    The "Well Tended Perennial Garden" book has some information on pinching
shastas. I would relay it to you but I have loaned my book to someone else.
However, as I recall, she said you can pinch them back in layers and have
blooms lasting longer as the pinched ones don't bloom until a week or two
after the initial flush of blooms. It is an excellent book. I did pinch some
of my perennials this year that I don't usually and it worked well.  Wish my
shastas hadn't bloomed yet. I always look forward to them and now they are
all done!
