Re: Brugmansias, Daturas, Acnistus?
Do Brugmansias have the same alkaloid poisons as Daturas? I know I
already told the story of stupidly pulling apart a datura seed head to
look inside, then absent-mindedly rubbing an eye--the atropine dialated
the pupil so much that I thought I had had a stroke and went to the
emergency room--an opthamologist figured it out.
And I must have left behind a seed head in the garden--three have come
up this year on their own and one has flower buds.
Now with the tempting desciptions of Brugmansias, I will have to try
this one next year. The perennial list has been a wonderful source
leading to new discoveries.
