Hi, Wyn, liatris looks somewhat similar to lythrum, without doing any 
damage that I know of to the environment. And the information I have 
heard is that the seeds can travel up to 50 miles!!!  I have seen 
pictures of areas being choked by this....and have read several 
articles about the incredible damage it can do.  Much as I love how it 
looks, I could not, in good conscience, plant this.
