I agree with both who mentioned this day lily. I have them too, and the
older the plant gets, the more outrageous the trippling becomes. I have
only doubles at this point, but the original planting these were taken
from are in triples and quads. Everyone on our block has them somewhere
in their yard and no one knows who had them first (older neighborhood
like the one mentioned).
We just returned from a bike trip in the middle of our state (Wisconsin)
and I saw triples and quads along the *rails-to-trails* bike trail. Must
have been pretty for the railroaders to see such beuaty from the train.
Thanks for mentioning this otherwise *common* sight.
