Has anyone ever heard of perennial zinnias? Perhaps those of you in
southern climates have, but up here in Wisconsin, I've never heard of
something like this until yesterday.
I had the good fortune to walk through the Boerner Botanical gardens
http://www.uwm.edu/Dept/Biology/Boerner/index.html
and they have a *HOT* garden of all yellows, oranges and reds that is
spectacular. One of the plants that caught my eye was *zinnia linearis*.
The college student-gardener I grilled about it wasn't all that
knowledgable, but she distinctly said perennial . . . . . .???
They don't have the traditional zinnia shape. They are low (6 in?) and
look more like a very bushy, small daisy. Unfortunately, the web site
has no picture of the garden I mention, and I would love to have further
knowledge of this plant.
Thanks in advance.
