Mary Gregory, etc.

The Busse catalog claims that the Mary Gregory stokesia is hardy to zone
5 and since they're in Minnesota, they should know! Winter wetness is
the problem for all stokesia.

I grew the perennial snapdragon (obtained from White Flower Farm) for a
year or two. It did not survive last year's mild winter (go figure) and
I was not impressed with the small flowers -- not much of a display.

For a dry sunny site, one of the best yellows or whites I've used is
Anthemis. Nice ferny foliage, lots of smallish daisy flowers, and
several varieties, one of which ('Moonlight'?) is a creamy pale yellow.
Bluestone has these, I believe. There's also a pale yellow frilly
Shasta daisy called Cobham Gold, which I think Bluestone also has. It
may not be as hardy as other Shastas though most sources say zone 5 for
it.
