Hi Myrna, I love F. rubra 'Venusta' (we call it Queen of the Prairie) too.
I have had good luck growing it in part shade/part sun in a well composted,
raised bed. Regular summer water extends the bloom time I have found. The
clumps can be divided in early spring if desired, but I like a really nice
big clump that creates oohs and aahs while in bloom. Marilyn
