RE: Buddeia bush

Would I be guessing right that this Buddeia bush is what I refer to as a
Butterfly bush? If so, my question is, can I cut it back (right to the
ground or close to) early every spring (or in the fall?)  to control the
size of the bush. I find the bush very attractive but don't have room
for a large bush, and also find it looks messy when too large (also feel
that way about Forsynthia). So, can I have a Butterfly Bush (buddeia)
and keep it trimmed to not more than 4 feet and still enjoy plentiful
blooms? Thanks.
