Hello Isabelle,
I believe there may be some confusion here.
Penstemon digitalis Husker's Red has a lavender-white bloom... not red.
The red in the name refers to the foliage. During cool weather the foliage
is a good, deep, bronze-brown, red. Quite attractive. Watch for it to begin
loosing the green in the foliage this fall as it goes back to bronze. If you
can place it where it will get afternoon sun on the foliage during winter.
Very nice with sun highlighting the bronze.
Unless you are buying seed from a commercial house it is best to take
cuttings or divide. Penstemons can be variable and you could loose some of
these features when using seeds from someone's garden.
