In general, the life cycle for most goes something like this: The eggs
overwinter on plants under the dead female's dome. Mid May to the end of
June (depending on the species) they hatch as crawlers (tiny nymphs), crawl,
and settle to feed. They mature by July and mate.

Is this why when I see the dead scale on the orchids I think my problem is
over and sure enough months later the plant is covered again? What method
would you use to completely rid yourself of this problem.....I know what kind
of pesticides work and usually I treat for 6 weeks (4 times)....is this
enough? How do you treat the dormant eggs?
Thanks
Kemberly
