Don -
I am having a similiar problem w/a hibiscus 'Blue River' - I too purchased
this plant in the fall in a 1 gallon container and while the weather was
cooler (the short, short time it was) the plant bloomed beautifully....almost
plate size blooms (pink on the outer edge turning a very deep "hot" pink in
the middle.
I know this is a slightly different plant we are talking about but both are
in the mallow family. My leaves are also turning yellow and I'm loosing them
daily. I have repotted mine into a clay azalea pot (not much bigger than the
1 gallon plastic) and it has since never bloomed. I or the sky keep it
watered daily - am I over watering it???? I currently have it in a full sun
location (for the most part - only very late afternoon shade)......Do I have
it in too sunny of a spot? The pot is placed on the front walk (white
concrete) next to the house (white brick).....is there tooooo much heat and
reflection?
I still fertilize my pots (even in the heat) with a 1/4 strength solution
every 2 weeks.....is this too much or too little?
