Re: Bush Mallow - Lavatera maritima
I have five of these 'wonderful monsters'. They've grown 6 feet tall and just as
wide in just two years. I have mine planted in the ground but then I'll only in
zone 7. I cut them back late fall and they winter over great. They have just
started blooming (we have late summers here) and will continue blooming till
frost. I LOVE them. They make great long lasting cut flowers as well as
wonderful screens. The ones doing the best are actually in a dry area - facing
south. I look through my books and see how winter hardy they are.
