This spring, I purchased a bush mallow, Lavatera maritima. I enjoy the
mallows, and this species had nice grey-green leaves and good sized light
lavendar flowers with purple centers. The plant is about 2 ft tall, but I
had put off repotting it. It has not really done well, even tho I have
kept it well watered. The leaves are yellowing and flowering has decreased.
I've now repotted it into a 5 gallon pot, but was wondering, was my problem
just failure to repot it soon after I received it (Bad! Bad Gardener!)?
Is anyone else growing this and how are you caring for it. ? In case
anyone is wondering, I didn't plant it directly in the ground because I
would like to save it over the winter (assuming I can get it to grow in the
summer!!!)
Thanks for any help.
