Re: Would someone please explain this weather?!?!?!?!?!

Our weather has been a bit unusual as well. Locally, we had a dry spring
while not 200 km. to the west there is very serious flooding caused by
almost constant rain.

Things started to change in mid June when it got wet and cold. Now, it's
wet and hot. Nothing is suffering but like a lot of other people on the
list some plants are a little off schedule.

First, I have a Norland apple tree that has fruit that ready to pick.
That's about 3 weeks early. Unfortunatly there isn't much because on a
wind storm that we had 2 weeks ago.

I have some daylilies that normally bloom in late August. They're on track
to bloom in late July. My sister says that this happened to hers several
years and she got a second bloom in mid September. Of course that would be
dependent on frost.

I have several varieties of Asiatic lilies chosen specifically to bloom
consecutively. This year one variety is really early and is blooming with
the one that normally blooms first.

Regardless of all this weirdness, the garden looks great. What really
ticks me off is baseball! (Yes I know this is off topic but this is too
bizzare not to share.)

We had ticket to a game on June 19 that was rained out. We replaced those
with tickets for June 29. Guess what--rained out. We replaced those with
12 July (tonight) and it's not looking good for baseball fans in Winnipeg
right now.

No wonder our team is named after a fish.
