Would someone please explain this weather?!?!?!?!?!

Fellow Gardeners:

I am baffled by this years weather - Texas is always known for it's
unpredictable weather but this year is way off. I've got fall bloomers in
bloom now. We had records highs this spring and now we are experiencing
record lows for July - a mere 88 degrees today.

My Justicia (Pine Cone Shrimp) is just beginning to bloom and normally this
one doesn't even consider putting buds on until late September, early
fall...full bloom by Halloween. My Nepenthes is putting on pitchers---this
is the third summer I've had this plant and the first time it has put
pitchers on this early....usually not appearing until late October early
November. Now to really top it off my butterfly ginger (Hedychium) is
blooming - the buds usually appear the week of Labor Day and open late
September.

Do ya'll remember El Nina two years ago....what are we calling this year?
