Just wanted to say thank you to Kemberly, Devon and Donna for their
words of encouragement and trial and error stories! I'm not about to
give up - but sometimes I do wonder what I'm doing wrong!
Actually after I worte the first message I got out there and weeded and
watered. Thngs started perking up and I actually commented to my
husband that the garden was starting to look nice! The hollyhocks,
coreopsis and Liatris (I think) are blooming and so there is some color.
Unfortunatley after I pulled the weeds I find I have a lot of open dirt
areas.
I went out several nights after dark with a flashlight and handpicked
the asiactic garden beetles. There were not scores but I did have the
dubious satisfaction of drowning a number of them. I suppose for this to
do any good it will have to become a ritual. I know Vivian and Laurie
also have them - any luck with battling them?
