Re: asiactic garden beetles


From what I understand they are about the same size and shape as the
Japanese beetles but are tan and not metallic looking.  Vivian  told me to go
out and look for them - and sure enough there they were.  They burrow in
the ground during the day and come out and skeletonize plants at night. 
It seems to be in Massachusetts gardens.  I've only seen one Japanese
beetle and that was at a park.

I think I looked at the same sites - 
I also saw one that suggested making a light trap - I'll have to look
for that one again.

P.S. Laurie they're relatively clean and totally non-slimy.  I just use
my bare hands to catch them and drop them in a bucket of water. (I draw
the line at squooshing them with bare hands...)(I pick up worms too!)
