Hi Laurie-
Got your message that you called last night - we were actually out (on a
week night, imagine!) visiting a colleague of Jack's whose wife just had
a baby. THe baby is 5 weeks old and so incredibly tiny - I know Ari
was once that small but its hard to remember!
Anyway we were back late and I won;t call people after9 or so
unless I know that's okay with them -
Ari And I did go to the Daylily Farm - very interesting! THis
guy, Ken Buck, basically grows over one hundred varities in his yard as
another 400 on an additional 4 acre lot he has somewhere. HE talked
about daylilies - their cultivation, how so many varities arose (there
are over 40,000 registered kinds), and how he got started in the
business. If you want to see it, I think the Garden CLub has an evening
visit in AUgust planned - but you can also call and make an appointment
to view the beds - no purchase necessary! Ken is an extrememlly nice
guy. NOw i just have to figure out where ot put a bunch of daylilies...
Sharon
P.S. Excuse the typos- I'm doing this one-handed.
