RE: Division

In addition to the other recommendations you have received, I'd definitely
put something over your new transplant (an umbrella or box, maybe) to shade
it for a few days. Plus the usual: Lots of water. Small happy dances.
Etc.

Subject: Division

Hi. I just divided some day lilies, because I wanted some in assocaition
with asiatic lilies, and a heuchera, because i needed a replacement
plant. It's very hot, of course, and i have been watering often (not too
deeply, as I'm just trying to offset the effect of root loss). Also
transplanted a couple of small sunflowers that were too close together.
They wilted seriously, but after repeated waterings and mulchings seem
to be rebounding. Any thoughts on division and transplanting at this
time, the hot height of summer?
