I'm not Marge, nor do I play her on tv, but I can tell you that taking
cuttings and getting them to grow from the Black Knight is VERY easy (at
least it was for me!).
As mentioned in a previous post, I moved house last year and one of the
things I did was take cuttings from my Black Knight Buddleia (at this
very time of the year!). They were from the ends of the branches,
sturdy but not really woody - maybe 4 or 5 inches long. I dipped them
in water, dipped them in rooting hormone, and stuck them in small peat
pots filled with wet sand. I made sure to keep them moist and out of hot
sun during the pre-move and move periods, and once settled, planted
them, peat pot and all, in the ground. I made sure they never dried out
until winter came and I could water no longer.
They are now taller than I am (admittedly, I'm only 5 feet tall, but
that's still really cool from a 4 inch cutting!!!). I didn't think it
would work, but it sure did! Good luck.
