Hi...I have both the white and pink varieties of gaura in one of my beds
this year. After the first bloom sequence I cut it back by about 1/3
thereby deadheading all spent bloom stalks and it is now blooming for a
second round. I like mine, too, but it is very floppy and had to put a ring
around them. It seems that this year alot of plants are floppy in my 2nd.
year garden. We had to stake the miscanthus varigata...it fell apart in the
middle. My artemesia also fell apart in the middle and following the advice
in *The Well-Tended Perennial Garden* I cut it back by half...hope it comes
back! Does anyone have any ideas about this floppiness or is it just the
way of the plants?
