I call July "raggedy" month..that's how my garden looks (too me). Heat,
humidity, lack of rain. Yesterday I was out wandering, looking over the
gardens. The front bed is deplorable-things must be moved and/or removed; I
see everything that is wrong with my garden in July.
The border that runs along the house is the only spot that is relatively
decent looking. I believe it is because it gets afternoon sun and the plants
are baked to death all day.
I moved the Eupatorium rugosum-to me, it looks happier already. The purple
leaves will look nice next to the white Phlox that is just beginning to bloom.
Yesterday, I also planted Veronica and another daylily called 'Joan Senior'.
Lovely flower. And Veronica. I have never seen a plant so covered in bees &
wasps in my life.
