It's possible that the some seedlings came up close to the original
hibiscus. A few years back I sent some seed to a gardener in Vermont
from my dwarf "Disco Belle White" and she reported back that all of the
offspring had red flowers. Apparently one of the parents of the white
hibiscus must be red.
