Re: yellow aconitum/ now Red Lobelia

The only lobelia hybrid I have personal experience with is Lobelia 'Ruby 
Slippers', one of Thurman Maness's crosses.  It's quite vigorous and hardy 
here in Massachusetts zone 6 and is a fabulous color.  A friend of mine here 
had a correspondence of sorts with Thurman, who is quite an eccentric, but I 
don't think he does any mail order anymore, even at the erratic level he once 
did.  If you're interested, try Plant Delights, as Tony Avent knows Thurman 
personally and lists some of his plants.  I think these may be hardier 
generally than some of the others, like 'Scarlet Compliment.'
