Val - I have had the same experience with the variegated form. I have one
in a semi-sunny location, and one in dappled shade. The one located in the
dappled shade has retained more coloration than the one in the sun, but
neither one has grown much since I planted them in the spring. Definitely
not as vigorous as the Margarita or the Blackie, and very disappointing.
Also, the leaves do not grow as large and the whole plant just seems to
recede into the background and doesn't put up much of a show.
