leaves off with about 1 - 1 1/2 inches of the stem attached to each leaf,
stick them in moist potting soil and they root quickly. I've been known to
pass a potted plant, think "boy, a sweet potato vine would look good with
that", go snip off a leaf and stick it in the pot where I want it to start,
and it works. Pam Adkins >>
I think just about anything works with Sweet Potato. Last winter I left some
in a pot on my open-sided, east-facing porch here in St. Louis, zone 6. When
I finally threw the soil into the compost this spring out popped a sweet
potato covered with fresh sprouting roots. I'm sure if I had just left the
pot on the porch I would have had a new plant. --Janis
