Gene,

in your case, would it help to have a very detailed map of your garden so
that people would know exactly what they were looking at?  You could make
notations to show them what was currently available for sale, too.  This
way if they wanted a closer look at something, they could go to your
display tables/greenhouse/etc to examine in great detail.

But in your case, this may be a daunting task.  And if some people are rude
enough to step into your beds, then a piece of paper won't stop them, huh?
