more bloom

We're about two weeks (at least) ahead in the Midwest this year, and it
seems like the number of blooms on most perennials has been exceptionally
large this year. We had a great show on tree peonies (25 huge purple blooms
on one plant I've had for only 4 years), for example, and then later on
herbaceous peonies and siberian iris. The shrub roses are literally covered
in buds. The giant allium are enormous and have increased. The rock roses
(helianthemum) were loaded with blossoms too. Is anyone else noticing more
blooms per plant than usual?
