Maybe Jim just has superstock.  I firmly believe that just like the human 
population, any particular population of a single genus and species of plant 
will have a mix of health in the stock, from very strong to very weak.  But 
Jim appears to have the Superman of double bloodroots, and its offspring 
apparently inherited the vigor.
