My sister in my same zone gave me five lupine seedlings she had raised from
seed in pots. This was three years ago. The two that survived the first
season are blooming still today. Of course we have had mild winters two
years in a row. They're stunning plants and not often seen in the Cincinnati
area (Z6a). I've got them in a bed that gets afternoon shade but not mulched
and no additional water. I do not know what the secret is.
