My lupines rarely last more than two years but fortunately they self seed
quite nicely in the garden and I usually have half a dozen or so flowering.
I can tell that they don't last because they bloom in different colours
every year-blues, yellows and whites mostly. They look wonderful in flower
but the foliage does seem to take quite a beating from the insects.
