Re: lupines

Bill, Dean and all Lupine lovers,

In 99 I grew Lupine from seed acquired from Park seed. Only a few
germinated and of that number only one survived transplanting into the
garden, the winter ect, and actually bloomed about a month ago. It was
beautiful ! every one who visited my garden was impressed. I currently
await harvesting the seed, the plant looks pretty ratty at the moment. I
have a tray of seed already growing but they are from seed purchased at
Wal-mart or Lowes.

Do either of you grow Fox glove from seed? I had great success with both
seed purchased from Wal-mart and a strawberry purchased form Park
seed. They both bloomed beautifully this year. The Strawberry reached
about 40 inches and the others most cream and light pink with one deep
purple ) were way over my head well lets face it --it doesn't take much
to get over my less than 5 ft head. I will try to gather seed from the
fox glove also. Now-- do I plant the seed immediately or wait until fall
or next spring?
