I may have said this earlier but just in case - Digitalis purpurea will seed
itself to the extent that you will need to weed some out of the garden. What
you need to watch for is the seedlings late in the summer. They germinate in
August when the nights are cooler. In our zone 4 paradise a large plant
forms and remains somewhat evergreen all winter. In spring (right now!) the
foxgloves are making flower stalks.
When you are confident of the process, you can cut off any flowers that are
of a poor color keeping only those you like. Eventually your "strain" will
be the best for you.
