Good Day --
Been tired of rain and cold, cloudy days and now I wish I hadn't complained
so much.
I am planning a trip from Rock Island, Illinois, to Baltimore, Maryland, next
week. Haven't much of any idea what we plan to do besides visit a friend and
square dance. Thot I might leave the rest of our itinerary up to you all!!
Do any of you have any suggestions for gardeners and nature lovers to stop
and see along the way? Of course, I'm sure there are many Arboretums,
Botanical centers, parks, etc., but there are so many options and so little
time. So what do you suggest that would give us the most "Bang for our few
Bucks?"
Now don't limit your suggestions to purely Garden type places. I have been
to a few other attractions over the years where I enjoyed the flowers as much
as the roller coasters!! Now I probably will be spending most of our money
on gas but are there any special or unusual shopping places to buy a few
"souvenirs" (and I don't mean the usual coffee cups and T-shirts!).
And please do not ask what route we are taking!!
I have no clue -- can't find the atlas!
Besides, I would prefer to leave that "detail" up to you!!
Thanks again for all your Wonderful Help!!
And I hope none of you mutter OT -- I'm sure there are lots of places of
interest to many others on the list who might like to take a day-trip or
weekend to visit or put them on their 20+ year list of things to do and see!
Best Wishes to you all --
