Lori,
    Remember Jim Crockett, of "Crockett's Victory Garden" on PBS? In one
of his books he said that July was when he sowed most perennial seeds.
July isn't as busy as spring and early summer, and it's still early
enough for the seedlings to grow strong enough to survive the winter.
    Of course, that doesn't do anything for seeds that need a chilling
period, or a lot of seeds that need to be sown as soon as ripe.
