Just went out and pulled the tag on my Rudbeckia, since Indian Summer
rang a bell. Sure enough, that is the one I have. I just got it last
year, and I can't remember if it flowered then or not. This year it is
around two feet tall so far. The plant marker that came with it says:

Black-Eyed Susan - Indian Summer - Rudbeckia hirta
Sun - Part Shade, 3 - 3 1/2 feet tall (90-105cm)
** Perennial **
1995 AAS award winner impressed judges with huge, 6-9" golden blooms on
sturdy stems. Excellent for beds, borders, or cut-flower gardens.
Flowers - Summer to frost
Care - Very easy to grow in virtually any location. Tolerant of poor
soil, heat, and droughts. No staking is required.

Will be interesting to see if it actually gets flowers that big! Mine is
in an area that at this time of the season is only getting about 4 - 4
1/2 hours of full sun. I just noticed this when I was out redoing this
bed. It was planned as a full sun bed (my only area that gets any sun)
based on that's what I thought I remember it getting (more than the 4
hours it gets now). Oh well, plants from last year are doing great.
