Hi Beth,
You are probably in the same zone as we are (Wiarton, Ont. on
Georgian Bay) Zone 5a-5b with micro-climates. Actually, we are
quite lucky as we have many, many, micro-climates in and around
our property. We live near the base of the Niagra Escarpment and
below us is Georgian Bay.
I have a few peonies and my favorite among them is probably Sarah
Bernhard along with Duchess de nemours and Krinkled White.
New to me this year will be Raspberry Sundae, Mons Jules Elie,
Catharine Fontyn and Bowl of Beauty.
Sarah Bernhardt, very interestingly resembles the David Austen,
Mary Rose. When friends viewed my photos of the two, they
thought they were the same plant. (VBG-of course they were non-
gardening buds, but I could see the resemblance).
Would imagine that it will be harder for you to choose a couple as
there are so many suppliers in the Us, and, although some of these
business mail-order to Canada, it is fun to actually find them here
(and this can be a very long and involved process, but it makes those
that we do find, more special)
Have fun shopping for these little lovelies.
Ronnalee, in Wiarton in the foggy drizzle.
