Al. I think you too have had a drought situation in Ohio and pine trees
are notorious for sucking all the available moisture out of the soil.
The Virginia blue bells do grow in the low land next to creeks and
rivers that overflow in the spring in a native situation. They really
do like lots of moisture in the spring when they are doing their thing
and then they go to sleep but moisture they do need.
