peonies in bloom - wouldn't ya know it . . .

I've been driving around on errands the last week or so, enjoying the
peonies in bloom in my area. My standard thought, however, was *Time for
a VERY WINDY thunderstorm* - seems we always get one when they are in
full bloom and they end up in a tangled, broken mess.
Sure enough - last night a wicked storm drove through SE Wisconsin
(straight line wind gusts of over 80 mph) - the peony display on my
normal driving route is greatly reduced today!
