Digital cameras

I have to praise digital cameras.  I'm now on my second one (first one got to be not fancy enough).  Both cameras have been Olympus, the latest is a D-450 which cost around $400 back in 1999.  What I looked for in a digital camera was: zoom capabilities, ability to take good to excellent macro shots of flowers, and memory cards so I would be less likely to "run out of film" between downloads to my computer.  My sister-in-law bought a more expensive Sony digital - I think it was around $600 - because her prime requirement was tiny size.  My personal opinion is the Olympus is easier to use, it takes sharper photos and has a larger zoom.  I'll bet you can find many digital cameras on Ebay, with the older models like mine reasonably priced.  I was keeping track of battery life, and over the past 8 months, I've taken over 700 photos with more than half of them being landscape oriented.  The camera has paid for itself since I don't have film processing charges!
